I want to show the connections and the reflections between the world and me by presenting my artworks. I am a clear and definite individual; on the other hand, the appearance of the world varies along with my perception and my consciousness. It thus affects the way of the connection between the world and me. I could not think of one clear description or a simple idea to sum up my artworks; however, they are somehow all related to disappearance, forgottenness, memory, the change or variation of different statuses, abandonees, aperture, and something else, something more. The more I want to describe something clearly; it ends up getting inevitably further from me.
I often choose video, photo, installation as a way to convey my idea, yet video and photo for me is not for delivering or carrying any message independently, they are both part of /belong to the installation, what I value is the roles they take in the installation and the relationship between them. To me, vision is definitely important in art, but as I imagine, art does not merely come from the vision, it often comes from something invisible: an atmosphere, a state, a sensibility other than vision that brought out by the visible art works. I value those cannot be directly reached by the vision, but can only be slightly touched by something more winding or more ambiguous.
My works are usually finished last week. I was thinking about things happened few years ago by then.
