Born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1981, Chen graduated from Taiwan National Chengchi University Advertising Department, and obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Central St. Martin College of Art and Design, London. Chen concerns most about the contrasting perspectives from diverse cultures and social classes in contemporary world and endeavors to understand differences through art practice. Chen explores artistic creation as a pathway of sharing values as well as building relationships via collaboration. Creative process often involves with audience’ participation in a constructed scenario in the context of ordinary life. Artistic practice includes media such as video, photography, drawings and installation. Chen’s video is part of 2016 Art Basel screening program.
