Waves discusses the idea of “cycles.” From viewers’ perspective, I hope to approach the theme from different angles (perspectives). One is directly about my world view, while the other is about my techniques. However, no matter what perspective you choose, you will savor the same feeling. If you directly look at the work – you spend some time in front of if, seeing the movement of the ball, but not any significant cycle, and the ball is not returning to fulfill its mission like a maglev train needs to return to transport –, you can sense some cycles out of its irregular movement. When you further think about it, you will leave the work alone to immerse yourself in your own imagination. It is inevitable and necessary, because the work does not need you to think too much. It encourages you to extend the reflection onto yourselves. I was amazed by it in the beginning as well. Those who care about the techniques will realize the rules. When they look up level by level, they will see the surprising support of the moving ball. They might start to associate the concept of the work to any similar things in the world, or even the Universe. Different people have different perspectives, and I cannot control it. What I attempt to do is to direct the different perspectives into the same concept. If I succeed, it only because my concept is the universal logics of the world we are living in. I am only visualizing and the expressing the things we have been experiencing.
