Venue: Whashang Art District, Taipei.
Association of Culture Environment Reform invited me to participate in Spin City 2000. Contemplating the meaning of urban waste, I collected the unwanted sofas and chairs I could find in Taipei City and sent them to repair store to be reupholstered and repainted. However, the transformed furniture were “dumped again” to the landfills in Nankang. My intent was to create tension of deposing a “brand-new” object by dumping it in the landfills. The work aims to provoke thoughts about reusing daily life objects and reducing wastes.
