This is a site-specific artwork made for Treasure Hill Artist Village.
The title ‘Seasonal Depression’ comes from the medical term ’Seasonal Affective Disorder’, a illness referred to being physically and mentally suffered from winter, and this work is dedicated to the patients.
The concern of making time and space specific brings the idea to River Lin: to build a beach in the space. In winter, there is a beach which make people feel mentally being in summer. In the meantime, people don't actually going to sea but a plaza surround by some multi-store buildings with different hues of blues. In this work, summer and winter are juxtaposed as well as being healed and suffered.
