How kind of you to let me come

No need to hear your voice when I can talk about you better than you can speak about yourself. No need to hear your voice. Only tell me about your pain. I want to know your story. And then I will tell it back to you in a new way. Tell it back to you in such a way that it has become mine, my own. Re-writing you I write myself anew. I am still author, authority. I am still colonizer the speaking subject and you are now at the center of my talk. (Bell Hooks, 1990/ 241-43) [1]

"How kind of you to let me come”, which is based on the same footage as that of my latest work” The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain”. In spite of their formal similarities the two works somehow become totally opposite to one another, In the latest video I removed the part of the students repeating the phrase “The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain” while making corrections, instead only the professor’s training process remains. In my editing every student became completely mute whenever they attempted to pronounce the sentences. Instead the viewer is only able to observe their various emotions and thinking through their body language combined with the professor constantly correcting them.
