Reading is the cumulative and internal process by which the reader absorbs knowledge.

Digesting a book’s overall concept is a cursory step in its reading. The pinnacle of reading occurs when the contents of a book are internalized to become one’s own words, actions, thoughts, and character.

Classical canons are the soul of a nation. These then become universal values that coalesce into everyday concepts and language.

Just as millennia of accretion and extrusion create textures and patterns in rocks and boulders, classical texts become the layers upon layers of texture in “cultural sediment” that define the genetic make-up of society and culture.
