In this work, perfection is symbolized through the sculpture’s round shape. Because there are bulges on the ball, one can only roughly see that there are two human figures inside. It is not clear whether they embrace or push away one another. One can only imagine, not decipher, what goes on inside the ball. Visual perception-wise, the physical space of a sculpture is transformed into a metaphysical space. On top of the sculpture, there is one single crack that reveals a tiny bit of what’s inside – a human head. Not only the crack verifies the existence of what’s inside, it also serves as an interface between a physical object (the head) and a metaphysical space (the space inside the sculpture). It seems that the human figures attempt to communicate with the outside world and breathe different air. For me, however, the meeting-up with the outside world can also the beginning of yet another lonesome journey in life.
