All the scattered imitation debris of old ruins are to be treated as a kind of memento, which commemorates the event that one can finally break down, by applying one’s own strength to, the high wall of constraints, thereby ending the journey of applying hardship to oneself. The so-called constraints come from man-made agreements, whose structures are added and strengthened incessantly through time until they become an indestructible and unbreakable wall. With the derivative of a single medium and the use of everyday objects, a lexicon of time and space is constructed, and thus a confrontational dialog between the medium and the space is developed. The biased impression of visuality and tactility is converted to the quiet status of a healed mind. I aim to alter viewers’ visual perception of normal patterns and, by the use of smell, trigger their poetic imagination towards the space, thereby expressing the flowing journey of life through space and time.
