It’s been almost one decade since I left Taiwan, being away from home motivated me to document my hometown, its landscape, people and moments that I wish to remember. This project pushes me to think of the concept of “hometown” ; how each person was form by its surroundings and how does all individual have its impact which can influence the history.
Taiwanese writer, Yang Shen Xuan once wrote “A dry river is the fault of the history, people who lose the water source would be forced to travel. If we abandoned our land, our children would never know where they came from.”
To document my hometown in a sincere and intimate perspective, I hope this series can encourage people being cherish to our land and realize the importance of our identity.
