Leave Home Series
01 / 10

In the series of Leave Home, I tried to explore myself and my living space by photography. As a photographer, I align the camera lens on others and unfamiliar places all the time. But in this series, the caramel lens would always be aligned on me. In the process of taking photos, I used foot stool to set up the camera and utilized self-timer to compose it. In the meanwhile, I took a camera in front of the lens to imitate the feeling of facing lens. The images included the space of I lived in the past and the space of I will live in the future to reflect my memories and sentiment of the space. On the other hand, the “me” in the images would be the medium to co-exist in new and old space constantly. Moreover, I utilized graffiti to hidden myself in the image, which symbolized the transition of existence in the past as well as in the future. Through this composition, I would focus on the relationship between human beings and their own private space. In my opinion, human beings interact with spaces constantly, especially with the most private space as “Home.” When I contained myself in the space, I could be the interpretation of the space in the same time.
Last but not the least, I put a lion puppet in the spaces of every composition, which could symbolize my mental status as well.
