A kuso (non-sense) and contradictory parable coming from that part of a collective experience is picked, constructed and then assembled, the immigration and reengineering of foreigner cultures, and the chaotic internal disunion of individual spirit and sentiment.

The civic phenomena at our age is like a battle between creature/non-creature, recreating/non-creating. We human beings as an entity with conscious, must take new solution to face this combat with dilemma. We cannot simply wait passively for being rescued, instead, we have to understand and confront the dilemma: in the wrestling between fungi and human beings, a circle of attacks and fighting for control leads is an unavoidable fate.

What I sense from everyday life inspires me to develop my art creating with shapes of virus and fungi. I feel the virus world is the best interpretation to the relationship between life and art creating. What has been described in my artworks is what I am at this point; What stated in my artworks is a present processing tense to me: nothing is absolutely settled. The only thing for sure is that my artworks will continuingly present what I sense from the different situations I confront and how I react from what I sense. In the future without much prediction, things keep happening as I am getting to change. Each changing moment needs to be preserved through restless creating process.

KUSO-
The term “kuso” is first used by Japanese cartoon industry, which literately means “d*mn.” Later on this term is referred to a subculture on internet world. Kuso can be best described as a type of kitsh culture and often against mainstream value on contemporary society. To those baby bombers, kuso seems to be lack of logic and content and usually challenges the opinion of the majority. On one hand kuso is aim to be far beyond rule and regulations; on the other hand, kuso sometimes refers to taking a serious attitude toward things not so important.

From the artist’s point of view, kuso is the symbol of liberation and freedom from the stereotype value. It is a cultural phenomena and it cannot be understood and predicted as we normally do toward our daily life. In the project “RUREN Kuso,”(Kusoman) the artist wears a bacteria-like costume wondering around cities and thus wide spreading the “KUSO bacteria” all over. The project will be held as happening event at Taipei and other cities around the world.
