WU Chuan-Lun (born 1985, Tainan, Taiwan) graduated from Tainan National University of Arts (MFA). The artist is fascinated by the phenomena that blur the boundaries between nature and civilization, material and digital, ecosystem and politics in our time. He examines these phenomena through versatile media such as computer images, photography, ready-made objects, and installations. Wu’s works have been exhibited in several museums, such as Taipei Fine Art Museum (Taiwan), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art (Taiwan), Shanghai MOCA (China) and Gwangju Museum of Art (Korea). Wu has won the selected Prize of “Taipei Arts Award” (2007), selected Prize of “Kaohsiung Arts Award” (2011), and Art Taipei’s “Young Artist Discovery” (2013) granted by MOC of Taiwan. In 2014, he was invited to present at “Taipei Biennial 2014 - The Great Acceleration”. And was participated residency program at “OCI Museum (Seoul, 2016) and “Kunstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin, 2017). Wu now lives and works in Tainan (TW).

What I learn from the mountains and the sea
During my two-month stay in Taitung, I took the textures and form of   rock from nature, modeled them with photogrammetry, and collage virtual and real scenes between the abstract and figurative. The  software algorithm fills broken polygons into  discontinue  rock and reef, it looks abrupt but consort, as if it is a summation of all natural geometry form. Domestication
"Domesticated" is one of the primeval tricks to make usage of natural. I regard the world of internet as today's new nature, I start virtual hunting by using keyword “animal + kiss” search on the internet. If searching is like hunting, downloading is to capture. Angle-Fortune
People have a human instinct for natural omen, we want to foresee the future thought the interaction with nature. During my residency in Seoul, I fortuitously saw a tour ad of Baekdam Valley in subway — hundreds of taller than human stone-pile being stacked on the riverbed for wishing luck, people rise it so high as if it goes higher more fortune they will get.
