Dream, the Continuation of Memory
Sometimes the boundary between memory and object is very vague; as time goes by, memories may just become fragmental, faded, or simply feelings left. Objects may not exist any longer but only images of them remained. There are connective links between memory and object, these links have two-way effect on the memory and object, and the complex relationship is what I try to express in Object Image Memory, a new subject that is brought up at this stage of my creation. The idea is to search for the similar memories laying in the subconscious through images which also represent the outcome of time changing. We may find the creative ability again to interpret objects by searching for images and connecting of memories.
People dream of what they thought. Are those scenes and imagination appearing in our dreams reflection of what we think in our life, or the depressed desire? We used to comprehend our state of mind and the future with the images and scenes revealed in dreams. Are those dreams oriented from the desires repressed in subconscious or from animal instinct?
When id and libido are repressed by social norms from freely releasing, desires in subconscious can be revealed through dreams. As Sigmund Freud said, dream is the gateway to subconsciousness, and the contents of our dreams appear in distorted and deformed realities, representing in the form of symbols. In Object, Image, Dream Series, through illusory chaging desires in subconsciousness and fanciful impulse that deconstructs the realistic scenes, I seek to create a private space full of fancy and emotions.

It is the exhibition “The Existence between Memory and Dream”, where fantastic and indefinite ideas are keeping agitating.
