The piece is entitled “Embracing the Future” and is shaped to resemble a person standing at the corner of intersecting roads. It could be a student, arms outstretched to welcome whatever the future has to offer, a ship about to set sail or a gesture welcoming new visitors to the school. The green circle at the top of the work represents the vital growth of seedlings, alluding to the expectations and aspirations of students for the future. With its arms aloft the figure also resembles the letter “C” which when taken together with the central circle creates the symbol “@” – Generation E’s universal symbol for the Internet.
