”I’m…“ is an autobiographical experimental video. It reveals the process of self-identity of being a lesbian, and how to face enthusiasm and the frustration of love. Like the conversation at the beginning, as she talks about the idea of “names”, she also talks about the fact that after leaving gays in the silent edge for a long time, the society comes up with many new names to classify them. At the same time, gay marriage comes up with many difficulties to gain recognition as well. In this video, we can not only see the gay story, but also a Taiwanese woman’s life issues about family and marriage. For the director herself, facing her identity as a gay, in some points is similar with her mother’s stories of childhood and marriage: we get dispersed from ourselves and lose our names…
