Eusociality species are ranked highest group type in the biological system; Through highly collaborative situations, Eusocial species exert an individual’s maximum benefit. Individuals would give up their own benefits and considering the group benefits as priority. Therefore, to a certain extent, the social structure of Eusocial species were widely considered to be a superior social status comparing with human society. Many extraterrestrial creatures were portrayed as Eusocial species and they all followed the same plot routine: A species from outer-space which is way more powerful than human invades the planet Earth, causing catastrophe sceneries, yet, they all end up losing the war by exposing their weak spot(summit)to the undisciplined and irrational human beings. Those movies often use the contrast between the powerful Eusocial extraterrestrial and human world as a metaphor of the structure of the Cold War. The most vivid feature of Eusocial species is to consider the group benefit based on altruism as their highest principle. By setting up layers of irreversible classes, each individuals carrying out their own tasks, the society was able to reach its maximum efficiency. On the other hand, script writers have depicted all the human societies as a free world operated by democratic system.

I use collage approach to mix up several clips from different movies with descriptions of Eusocial extraterrestrial creatures. By editing those clips into a fictional popular science animal documentary film with narration explaining the reason of those creatures’ behaviors, I expect to reveal the ideology behind the making of those movies as a reflection on Taiwan’s current political situation.
