Ting Cheng was invited to take part in an exhibition in Brazil, "FONTE - Multiple Artistic Dimensions in a Typographic Narrative", curated by Lucas Ribeiro Pexão.

In an experimental format, "FONTE" brought a selection of artists from around the world an in unprecedented combination of typography, literature, drawing, painting, photography, video and performance to the exhibition space.

In FONTE, through photographs Ting Cheng decided to depict some of the passages of a fictional written text by DW Ribastki – the source of inspiration to the whole exhibition. Her pictures evoke a moment from an absurd story, she deconstructed the narrative, then, reconstructed the fragmental lines together, and visualized the words into several sketches. She created situations and scenarios that seemed to be part of a bigger story, a bizarre story.

This an extract from the text that inspired the work:

“The world is geometric.
Straight line connected,
with blue and red cables waving through them,
transmitting electricity.

It looks like our skins become transparent,
and is possible to see our internal organs, vines, and skeleton.

A Kiss.

Time is not a line,
that is how our brain better to understand it.

He bites half my face.

Everything happens in time is happening simultaneously.
There’s a tube connecting us, red and blue,

Big City and solid block.”
