2012 “where are you going”, Fremantle Art Center., Australia

“Where are you going?” is a subject which I developing from my last creation “Where Are You?” I did two video performance works during my stay in west Australia of Fremantle.

The performance video “The Tunnel” was marked in a heritage tunnel that was used for moving prisoner from sea to jail. I made a performance with a bucket of fire when a train passes by. I brought the fire to the beach, and after dancing with the fire, I then blew the fire off. This performance is to showing the hope of prisoners. But the hope of freedom eventually vanishes into the air.

The performance video “The mirror” shows a hope from the inner soul. I perform the piece at the corner of a piece of glass with very strong reflection of the sun. This work represents the vague situation of nowadays. People are trying to get out of dilemmas in reality. They can’t find the exit for moving further, with life running out at the end.
