Tsou I Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2008 she obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts and a minor in motion picture from National Taiwan University of Arts. In 2010 she obtained another bachelor’s degree in fine arts from ÉSAD ( L'ÉcoleSupérieured’Art et Design Grenoble-Valence, France). Later in 2012, she obtained a master’s degree in plastic art from ÉSAD. I Chen’s work focused on body art, conceptual, action and video art. In 2010, one of her video works won third prize in Festival of Video Art in Paris, France, and she was the only Asian among the three winners. In the same year, her short film was selected by 3th Festival Formosa Film in Lyon, France, and was shown in Documentary Month in France in 2012. Since 2011, she has joined tamtamARTArt Association as curator. Her curatorial works include "Lose Weight Exercise," a joint exhibition in MPA-B 2011 annual program; "Shaping Soul," a group exhibition of Germany, Austrian and Taiwanese female artists; “(Con)temporary, space-time, Performance and Action Art from Taiwan,” another joint exhibition in MPA-B Berlin Performance Art Month. In 2013, she collaborated with cooperates. She established tamtamARTTaipei IPIX in Taipei and works as founder till now.
