"I have met no spirits here, but I have my story to tell."
RunningStitch: Bangkok is the work I accomplished during my residency in Thailand in 2016. Focusing on those heterogeneous fields found in urban fringe areas, I conducted a series of art projects on regional mysterious hearsays.
By using the methodology of narrative sequence, I conducted interviews on the streets in Bangkok at random. Following that, I matched the pictures taken on the actual site of the personal experiences pertaining to ghosts and urban legends I heard during the interviews——all three events originated in different regions are connected together as a loop based on the concept of sewing and topology. Regarding the visual representation, I create a two-channel video to display the images of regions and narratives simultaneously so as to surpass the general characteristics of linear-timeline-based videos, to break the boundaries among the narratives, and to find new connections from within. Together with the residents, we performed a local visual experiment.
