The inspiration for “Brilliant Life” is to be found in the structure of flowers and the changeable “crossed lines” sculpture. The top part of the work is made of mirror-finished stainless steel that simultaneously reflects images from the surroundings, sky and earth. When contrasted with the red steel structure that forms the lower half of the piece, the work is placed firmly between heaven and earth. Whether seen from a distance or up close it highlights the combination of a “human” shape with that of a “flower” – the indomitable spirit created when “heaven, earth and mankind” come together.
